Location Overview
The Department of Biomedical Engineering is situated on the Cheng-Xing Campus of National Cheng Kung University (NCKU). Strategically positioned at the intersection of medicine and engineering, the department is adjacent to the College of Medicine, the Bio-Innovation Building, and the College of Engineering on Zi-Qiang Campus. As shown on the campus map, our location offers seamless convenience for faculty and students traveling between the medical school, NCKU Hospital, and engineering research hubs.
Capitalizing on its close proximity to clinical facilities, the department maintains active collaborations with healthcare professionals. Students and researchers can observe real-world medical needs, design experiments, and analyze clinical data directly within hospital environments. Combining solid engineering training with cross-disciplinary expertise, we drive innovation in biomedical engineering and healthcare technologies.
How to Get Here
By Car
Southbound: Take National Freeway No. 1 southbound and exit at Dawan Interchange. Turn right onto Fuxing Road, continue straight onto Xiaodong Road, and turn right to reach Cheng-Xing Campus. The department is located inside the campus, near the College of Medicine and Bio-Innovation Building. If traveling southbound on Freeway No. 3, transition to Freeway No. 8 West, then merge onto Freeway No. 1 South.
Northbound: Take National Freeway No. 1 northbound and exit at Rende Interchange. Turn left onto Dongmen Road toward downtown Tainan, turn right northbound onto Zhonghua East Road, then turn left onto Xiaodong Road to reach Cheng-Xing Campus. The department is located inside the campus, near the College of Medicine and Bio-Innovation Building. If traveling northbound on Freeway No. 3, transition to Taiwan Provincial Highway 86 West, then merge onto Freeway No. 1 North.
By Train (TRA)
Take the TRA train to Tainan Station and leave through the Rear Station exit. Walk straight along Daxue Road, turn left onto Shengli Road, and then turn right onto Xiaodong Road. Walk for about 100 meters to reach the entrance of Cheng-Xing Campus. Enter the campus and head toward the College of Medicine; the department is located nearby, next to the Bio-Innovation Building.
By High-Speed Rail (THSR)
Take the Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) to Tainan Station, then transfer to the TRA Shalun Line train bound for Tainan Railway Station. Upon arrival at Tainan Station, exit via the Rear Station, walk straight along Daxue Road, turn left onto Shengli Road, and turn right onto Xiaodong Road. Walk for about 100 meters to reach the entrance of Cheng-Xing Campus. Enter the campus and head toward the College of Medicine; the department is located nearby, next to the Bio-Innovation Building.
