Application for PhD Proposal Defense

The PhD proposal defense is to be organized independently by each individual laboratory.
（學位口試初試由各實驗室自行辦理。） - Funding and Reimbursement / 經費申請與核銷
- The department provides a maximum subsidy of NT$6,000 for the evaluation fee, with a maximum cap of NT$1,600 per committee member.
（本系提供最高 NT$6,000 審查費，每位委員審查費至多 NT$1,600。） - To apply for funding: Please submit the names, affiliated institutions, and job titles of the committee members to Patty at the department office.
（經費申請時請提交委員姓名、服務單位及職稱，向系辦 Patty 申請。） - For reimbursement: Please submit a copy of the passing certificate along with the signed receipts.
（核銷時請一併繳交合格證明書影本及領據。）

- Document Submission & Candidate Status / 文件繳交與候選人資格說明
Upon passing the proposal defense, please submit a copy of the passing certificate to the staff in charge of degree examinations at the department office.

According to the departmental regulations revised on September 21, 2026 (115.9.21):
• Students who passed the Qualification Exam ON or AFTER Sept. 21, 2026: You MUST pass this proposal defense to officially obtain PhD candidate status.
• Students who passed the Qualification Exam BEFORE Sept. 21, 2026: You have already obtained PhD candidate status. Please download the corresponding template.

The date and time of the proposal defense must be announced in advance on the "Degree Examination Notice Board" located on the 1st floor of the BME Building.
